In this Tech Talk, I want to discuss the concept of separation in the shot put and discus.
If you don’t have separation when you throw the shot or the discus, your throw will be far shorter than you want.
I see many throwers struggling with this part of the technique, and there are a number of things you can do to improve your execution.
One of the reasons many of my throwers make big jumps each year is that we teach them how to separate, and if they can’t, we work on it endlessly! In this video, we’ll talk about the concept of separation, and how having it, adds big distance to your shot put and discus throws.
