If you find yourself saying something like at a practice:
“hey, you didn’t turn your foot in the power position. Turn your foot more.
Hey your chest was to forward, Get your chest up.
when you turn your leg and your arm is at this level, you need to turn this…”
… and then you spend another 15 min explaining further what you mean; there is a lot lost in translation.
However, with the TCR™ system, you have terminology that you and your entire throw squad use, so you end up coaching more like this:
“ Hey Joe, in Pillar 3, you cut off the sweep and so that stops your rotation into the middle so you slow down and its becomes impossible to rotate your right foot in the power position.”
When you follow the TCR™ system you are given terminology, that makes it much easier for you and the athlete to identify where in the throw needs adjustments and further work.
And let’s be honest here… in today’s society, where time is king… less words = more retention- and better results!
